Plane Owned by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil Crashes at Scottsdale Airport, Leaving One Dead and Three Injured
A tragic plane crash at Scottsdale Airport on Monday afternoon left one person dead and three others injured, according to the Scottsdale Fire Department. Two of the injured individuals remain in critical condition and were transported to hospitals in the Phoenix metro area.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. when a Learjet collided with a parked Gulfstream jet after landing. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where one individual was trapped inside the aircraft and had to be extricated. Scottsdale Fire Department, along with teams from Glendale and Phoenix, worked quickly to provide assistance.
Authorities believe the crash was caused by a landing gear failure. Records from the Wyoming Secretary of State indicate that the Learjet is owned by Vince Neil, lead singer of Mötley Crüe. However, a representative for Neil confirmed that he was not on board at the time of the accident. The aircraft had four occupants—two pilots and two passengers—while the parked Gulfstream jet had one person inside. Officials have not yet disclosed the identities of those involved.

Emergency Response and Investigation Underway
Scottsdale Airport officials, including Aviation Director Gary Mascaro, expressed condolences to the victims and their families. "This is a devastating incident, and our thoughts are with those affected," Mascaro stated.
Airport representatives confirmed that the Learjet had arrived from Austin, Texas. During landing, its left-main landing gear reportedly failed, causing it to veer off course and collide with the stationary Gulfstream G200 jet, which had been parked at the airport since January 31, according to flight records.
Hazmat teams were also deployed to inspect surrounding buildings for any potential hazards. One individual refused medical treatment but was not the person who required extraction from the wreckage.

Federal Investigation Launched
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has taken over the investigation and is currently examining the circumstances surrounding the crash. The airport runway remains closed, with officials promising updates on when normal operations will resume.
This incident marks the first fatal accident at Scottsdale Airport since 2018, when a separate plane crash claimed the lives of six people shortly after takeoff.
Authorities will continue to release further details as the investigation unfolds.
